| My Thailand Record=) *shopping trip |
My friend often joked about how i could become a thailand resident since i travel to thailand so frequently.
I have a habit to travel to thailand atleast once in a year. Since the clothes there is really cheap and the food there is also fantastically good and cheap!!=) Personal recommendation for Phad Thai and mango sticky rice=)
I always stayed in Baiyoke suite hotel, you can get good deals for early birds!!~ The hotel is located at pratunam market area, walking distance to platinum mum as well. However, they do not have free wifi service. So if you tend to facebook or tweet alot, you can considered buying a sim card at the airport at around 350-400bahts, depending on the amount of usage you buy=)
I always go for a 4days 3 night trip. And of course the place of visit are chatuchak, chinatown, Platinum mall, pratunam market, Central world and MBK shopping centre.

Day 1 (Saturday) : Chatuchak Market (Famous weekend Market) Mo chit station.
You can travel there by train or taxi but i chose train. So i walked from our hotel to the Ratchathewi station. The walk can be pretty horrendous under the hot sun. Its a 15-20mins walk, so if you prefer the comfortable way take a cab instead=) (cab is also 100baht, you have to negotiate with the driver)
-> We went there at around 11am so we shopped till around 4pm then my mum and I went back to our hotel to rest and have a break from the hot sun!
At night, we went to Platinum Shopping Mall around 5pm to shopped for a while then have our dinner there. The mall is just right opposite baiyoke suite hotel around 5-10 mins walked=) The mall sell a varies of product!! OF COURSE, they sell mostly clothes, shoes and bags. The last level of the mall consist of the food court and the mini stall selling accessories. The stalls goes on a wholesale basis so the more you buy the cheaper it is!! Bargaining there is kind of pointless since its a wholesale area=) You can have a taste of sharkfin soup in the food court(Buy a card at the far end of the food court, use for purchasing of food), it cost around $6-7, the portion is alright and its tasty as well. I had seafood phad thai(65-70bahts) there and my mum had fish ball noodle(35-40baht).
Thats the end of day 1~!~
Day 2- We went to chatuchak market again, to grab more stuff since it opens for weekends only. Then we went back to hotel to keep our stuff before proceeding the Pratunam Market. The Market is just below our hotel so you can shop there any time you want=) Lots of clothes there for you to buy too=p We end our shopping trip there around 6-7pm as the night gets dark very early there so the shop closes quite early.
-> went back our room to put our stuff before we continue again, now we went to MBK shopping centre.(Nation stadium station)
They sell electronic products at the last level, clothes on the other levels, and there is a supermarket there for you to stock up on some fruits if you like=)
We went to the massage store near baiyoke sky hotel. They charge 200 baht for a full body massage=)

Day 3- Chinatown market
I don't know how to get there by train so we took a cab there instead.=) I don't recall how much we paid. Its a place like chatuchak but the only differences is that there is no clothes sold there, or maybe there is but i didn't see any. The place is a serious MAZE!!!! No matter how many time i go there, i still get lost=( Or they sell medication, accessories, electronic product, etc. Anything that you can think of that is not clothes can be found there. If you want to buy local product back home!! You gotta get them there, its cheaper as compare to the mall, you can reduce the price a little if you buy a lot there=) The Sharkfin soup there is awesome as well=)
At night, we went to Central World Mall It's walkable from platinum mall, right at the back of it, you have to travel there by walking along the side of the road! So take good care of you belongings, the food court there at the top level works like marche' , you get a card at the entrance and the amount used is store in the card, you paid them before you leave=) The mango sticky rice and durian sticky rice is tasty! My recommendation=) Haha i wouldn't want to say about the food i ate as i eat phad thai everywhere is go=p
Visit Naraya there as well, its their local brand product for bags, its cheap and the quality is good=)
We had buffet at our sister hotel as well~ BAIYOKE SKY HOTEL. You can enjoyed buffet at a cheaper price since you stayed in the sister hotel=) They have a variety of buffet from western to chinese to japanese and etc. You can also go the the sky garden after your mean to have a lot at the awesome scenery=)
Day 4 - Our last day there, And that would of course mean last minute shopping near by=) So we went to Platinum mall and Pratunam market for our last minute quick grabs=)
